The Southside Grill is a real local find! Great food, great service and a real home-style ambience. It's easy to miss because it's a small place in a strip mall on 17 - not much to look at on the outside but a cute diner-style feel on the inside full of Pittsburgh memorabilia. I had a pork chop special that was tasty and plentiful. The baked potato was fantastic. Gary got the Seafood Platter that included a variety of fresh seafood and a delicious crab cake. The grill is a family-owned business and only open for dinner Wednesday - Saturday.Southside Grill is not to be missed!

Stopped in here with a party of 7. Immediately greeted and sat, orders arrived promptly... Food was spectacular! I was amazed at how good the lime coconut combo was. If you try one thing while you're here.. Try the carrot cake... OMG it's amazing.

The crab cakes was very good, I had the special grouper. It was fresh and done well. The portions were adequate. The only bad things was the string beans was from a can which was the only turn off. We were bought up with fresh vegetables so we notice the difference.

Don't be fooled by the decor or exterior. The crab cakes have lot's of crab meat as opposed to stuffing, and has a nice flavor. The desserts are excellent. Went with whole family of seven and everyone found a selection they enjoyed. I would recommend.

Ate there for the first time last night and loved it! Nothing fancy. Just family owned and excellent food! AND THEN THERE WAS DESSERT! O-M-G! Homemade on site by the couple that runs the place. Our table decided to share three desserts. The best and largest piece of carrot cake I've ever had, knock your socks off banana cream pie and out of this world raspberry cheese cake! I will absolutely be back again! Oh yeah, and BYOB or wine

Found this little place while down for bike week. At first I wasn't impressed.....it is a hole in the wall diner. Then the food came out! Very fresh good food and the service was the best. Now I have a favorite place to eat when in town.

We used Yelp to find this place. It sounded great. On our way there using google maps my wife noticed that it said "permanently closed" under the map. Sure enough, it was closed. Still has signs in the window but you better call cuz it looks "done". Sorry we didn't get to try it.

This food is awesome!!! We had a burger & seafood plate. I can't believe they do not have 5 stars. One of the best burgers I ever had.

If you want a real family owned, made from scratch desserts and entrees, great friendly service all at reasonable prices this is your place! I had a fantastic crab cake sandwich, my parents had the special of grilled pork chops which were juicy with great flavor - no small task for pork chops, and my husband had the quesadilla. And dad had the banana cream pie which he raved about. Hamburgers are next on our list. Definitely adding this place to our priority list for restaurants. Catch - no alcohol served but BYOB welcome and hey - great way to keep the price low and focus on the food! Nothing fancy here - just a local place you can eat at on a regular basis and enjoy it every time. Overall great food, service and value.

This place was great, with good prices. Very friendly staff! The chocolate chip pecan pie is a must! In a strip mall, but a quaint, warm, little place once you make it in. if youre wanting something out of the tourist loop this is your place!

Great local mom and pop place. Be patient waiting for a table but food is definitely worth it. Freshly hand made burgers and crab cakes are awesome, and very affordable

Quite literally the best crab cake in surfside and all of Myrtle Beach. There is no filler and I can't quite figure out why no other restraunt can match their vast array of delicious foods. Go here you will not be let down!

Food was excellent. Everyone at our table loved their choices. We had shrimp, grouper, quesadillas, and crab cakes. Staff is great and very engaging. Have eaten at many restaurants at Murrells Inlet and Southside Grill has better food and better prices!!!

Got take out from here on a Wed night in April. I ordered the crab salad. The waitress was kind and packaged the crab cake separately from the salad so I wouldn't have mush when I got home. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, shredded cheese, cucumbers and what looked like mini toasted bagels as croutons. I was not happy with the wilted sad looking iceberg lettuce. They should definitely do an upgrade to romaine or another lettuce that actually benefits your body. The crabcake looked more like a pancake but I was told by the locals that that's what they look like in this part of the country. I'm used to large almost baseball size crab cakes, filled with mostly lump crab but that's probably because I usually order them when I'm in Baltimore. I must say even though I didn't like the looks, the taste was very good. May go back just to dine in and try something else on the menu, I just won't order anything with lettuce

Why isn't this place packed every night? The food is incredible. The prices are more than reasonable, considering this place has the biggest portions I've ever had at a restaurant. The staff is basically one family and they're the nicest and funniest people you'll ever meet. Whether you're local or on vacation, you owe it to yourself to go.

awesome food. the crab cakes were delightful and the cod was fantastic. everyone enjoyed their food (we had a party of 11). The waitstaff was friendly but a little bit slow. It wasn't too bothersome as we were in good company. They had great desserts - red velvet cheesecake was awesome, key lime pie was so-so. Would definitely recommend!

The mussels appetizer was very good. The Black and Bleu Salad was delicious as were the daily special Pork Chops. Dining room is small so we ate at the bar as all the tables were full. All of the staff was very friendly and very attentive. Lots of Steelers stuff on the walls but don't hold that against them.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Myrtle Beach. The burgers are fresh and big and the quesadillas are loaded. The desserts are homemade and just the best! If it's crouded I order my dessert first to be sure my selection isn't sold out while I finish my meal. The owners are from Pittsburgh and they've decorated the place with sports and other memorabilia from the 'burgh. This is just a nice mom-and-pop eatery with good food at good prices.
